June 2002 - June 2003: Robert Bosch (Initial Contract 4 months) |

Position Contract Legacy Expert
Skills used SAP (SD,WMS & MM) LSMW package ,RPG/400, SQL, OPNQRY,client Access, Excel , Access and Powerpoint
Returning to Bosch after one years absence it became obvious that I had a very good understanding of the Business and the problems of converting from PRMS based on an AS/400 to SAP. Working in a team of six I decided to buy a book on SD and used it to find which SAP tables would need to be updated.
I used the following to collect data from the Legacy system:
1.Query - This was used for joining data from Boss (Warehouse System) & PRMS.
2.Client access option with Excel for a direct download of data from a PRMS or associated Query file..
3.Sometimes Access to merge files to a suitable format for SAP.
In the mean time I used my every increasing SAP knowledge and mapped the Legacy data to the relevant table /field name in SAP. I successfuly converted the PRMS contract price system to the relevant pricing conditions within SAP.This involved using Powerpoint to show the business where the problems were and monitoring the work..
I also migrated their BOM's and Free Goods, Material master and Customer data so became fully conversant with the requirements of SD & MM

March 1998 – April 2001 : Robert Bosch (Initial Contract 6 months)
Position: Contract Analyst Programmer/ Business Analyst, Project Leader
I was involved in six different phases of work.
E-Commerce
User training and testing of this E-Commerce solution developed for a PC with Explorer 5 and connections to the AS/400. Amending existing RPG /400 programs in order to meet the requirements of the application.
Stock investigation.
This involved discussion with users and PRMS investigation in order to create a system that would enable custom built products to be made on demand instead of by forecast. This would reduce stock levels and improve turnover of the stock. The system is currently being user tested
Euro Conversion.
This involved analysing the changes to PRMS writing some of them in RPG/400 and subsequent testing with all documentation in an Access 97 database which was updated by all members of the team
Y2K conversion .
This work involved me in a team of eight people for the Y2K conversion of their PRMS (Distribution module) package version 8.2 plus in-house written programs. All of the team helped plan the conversion of the eleven operating divisions of the company. All testing of the source code pre and post conversion was documented in Access database that I designed and wrote. The RPG/400 code was sent to a software house for conversion to Y2K code and it was necessary to interrogate the RPG in order to verify the conversion via a series of RPG/400 programs and SQL searches and resulted in the final code being amended.
System Testing.
This involved testing of their warehouse system Boss release 5 and a number of program changes written in RPG/400.An Access database to control all program development within the department including Robert Bosch India where I submitted many program specifications and subsequently tested the new system.
Specifying program changes .
This was done for user changes to the live PRMS and the programming completed by Robert Bosch India. This involved project control programming standards in order to deliver the correct amendments.
