Please see data migration page for more detail of my experience. I used Microsoft Access and Excel to cleanse the data to load into SAP. During my considerable time on data migration I learnt a considerable amount about the following modules.
- SD - Pricing / Order entry etc
- MM- Material master and interface to other modules like SD
- WMS - Loading of data associated with bins and how the warehouse works.
- FI - How the accounts were setup with multiple ship to address
- Master files for SD & MM modules
I also used quickview for various reports and often needed Excel to cleanse the resultant data for the end result.
